KARIBU! WELCOME!

by Jacqueline

[A] man is developing himself when he grows, or earns enough to provide decent conditions for himself and his family. He is not being developed if someone gives him these things.
Julius Kambarage Nyerere, from his book Uhuru na Maendeleo (Freedom and Development), 1973.

From time immemorial human development has witnessed a combination of individual struggles, community initiatives and collective efforts. Development has been characterized by many facets, such as improved living standards, information, communication, technology infrastructure  and advancement in science.

It is a process which entails the involvement of different stakeholders, each one contributing to the whole. Nations, organizations, institutions and  individuals must work together in contributing towards development.
